How to Use Cheats and Console Commands in Valheim
To start using cheats and other general console commands in Valheim, you will need to press F5 in order to bring up the console command box.
Before you can continue delving into the world of cheats, you will need to ensure that cheats are activated by typing "devcommands". However, it is worth noting that cheats can only be used in singleplayer and will not work on multiplayer servers.
In order to turn cheats off, simply retype "devcommands" into the console command box and watch as cheats are turned to false.
How to Use Cheats and Console Commands on Valheim Xbox
Without a keyboard at hand, using cheats and console commands in Valheim can be a bit tricky. However, you can use Cheats and Console Commands while playing Valheim on Xbox.
To open the console commands on Xbox, hold down your Right Bumper, Left Bumper, Right Trigger, and Left Trigger buttons all at the same time. Then press the Xbox "menu" button (the icon with three horizontal lines).

Once you have the console commands open in Valheim for Xbox, press A to bring up your Xbox keyboard.

To start using cheats and console commands in Valheim, you will need to type "devcommands". With this enabled, you can start using cheats and console commands for Valheim on Xbox! To stop using cheats, type "devcommands" into the console command box a second time. To close the console command box, press RB + LB + RT + LT + menu button a second time.
How to Hide Valheim UI
To hide the UI in Valheim - useful for screenshots - press CTRL + F3.
How to Spawn Any Item and Monster
WARNING: Please use the Spawn Item cheat at your own risk, as cheating can not only ruin your in-game experience but the items and quantity that use spawn into your world could potentially cause bugs, glitches, and possibly even break your world.
In order to spawn items through the console command cheat, you will need to first enable cheats by typing "devcommands". Once you have successfully enabled cheats, you will need to use the following code to spawn any item that you specify:
- spawn [item] [quantity] [level] [p/e/i]
For example, the below code spawns in 50 Wood.
- spawn Wood 50
Add an asterisk (*) after the item name to spawn every object containing that word. This includes furniture and non-equippable objects, too.
The letters p/e/i can be added to the end of the command for the following effects:
- p - automatically attempt to pick up the spawned items
- e - automatically attempt to use/equip the spawned items
- i - will only spawn and pickup if you don't have one in your inventory.

- WARNING: Haldor the Merchant will spawn approximately one foot off the ground and cannot be removed from your game afterwards.

For a more complete list of all spawnable items, Reddit user Demogrim complied a list that can be found here: Spawn Item Command List. However, this list is not updated for Hearth and Home and Mistlands. For Mistlands commands, you can use this list by Reddit user darth_static.

How to Enter Creative Mode (Debug Mode) in Valheim
Alternatively, if you're looking for something that's more along the lines of Minecraft's Creative Mode, consider trying the "debugmode" command as this will enter the closest thing the game has to a Creative Mode. While in Debug Mode, you can press the following keys to enable the likes of Flying, Unlimited Items, and much more.
- Z - Pressing Z while in Creative Mode will allow you to enter Flying Mode
- K - Pressing K while in Creative Mode kills all enemies in the area.
- B - Pressing B while in Creative Mode will allow you to repair any items without a Workbench, along with free placements of any items.
